Learning how to play Baseball

At Nick’s Second Annual Baseball Camp, each player will learn the best practices when it comes to playing baseball, and will be a pro in no time! We will cover pitching, catching, playing in the outfield and infield, the rules of the game, and most importantly, how to work together to accomplish the same goals!

Our Activities

Pitching

A pitch is the act of throwing a baseball toward home plate to start a play. Originally, the ball had to be literally pitched underhand. Overhand throwing was not allowed until 1884.

Batting

Batting is the act of facing the opposing pitcher and trying to produce offense for one's team.

Catching

Catching is when a player learns how to catch the baseball with a baseball glove. Baseball mitts are work to assist with catching the ball. Different positions require different shapes of gloves.

Team Work

Teamwork is the ability of everybody to focus on their goals and work cooperatively to achieve those goals. Good teamwork leads to success, and that's what the kids will be learning.

Outfield

An outfielder is a person playing in one of the three defensive positions, farthest from the batter. These defenders are the left fielder, the center fielder, and the right fielder.

Infield

An infielder is a person playing in one of the four defensive positions, closest to the batter. These defenders are the first base, second base, third base, and shortstop.

Base Running

The act of running from base to base. Base running is a tactical part of the game with the goal of eventually reaching home base to score a run.

Rules

Each player will learn the rules of how to play baseball, how to work together, and what certain baseball lingo means. Your child will be a pro by the end of the camp!
